The Adjective
It is a part of the sentence or kind of word that complements a noun to qualify it; expresses characteristics or properties attributed to a noun, whether concrete (perceptible by the senses, as in the green book or the big book) or abstract (cognizable by the mind, as in the difficult book).
These adjectives accompany the noun (book, book) and fulfill the function of specifying or highlighting some of its characteristics. In traditional grammar one used to distinguish between adjectives and determinative adjectives; however currently for the latter is usually used the word determinant while the word adjective is reserved for adjectives qualifying. The adjective is a variable word that expresses the gender and number by the effect of the concordance with the noun to which it accompanies, although there are adjectives that do not mark the difference in the gender, such as happy, and can refer to the time to masculine nouns or female, such as A happy man and A happy woman.
